BirdWorld attend their inaugural Fringe run on the eve of releasing Nurture on Dugnad Records (Norway). With a set-up of cello, drums, kalimbas and percussion spanning alternative, electronic, Afro-Cuban and contemporary classical music, their field recordings form an integral part of their music, interweaving industrial and natural soundscapes. Highlights include a Union Chapel concert filmed and recorded by NTS Radio, an electronic film score commissioned by London Contemporary Orchestra and a performance at LSO St Luke’s Open Ear series recorded by BBC Radio 3. Nurture is a significant leap into a new intimate and lyrical musical realm.
