From its earliest known existence pre-1700s through to the golden age of 18th-century masters Niel Gow and William Marshall, onto the 19th century and beyond, the fiddle in Scotland continues to hold a special place in the hearts of music lovers. Gaelic language, piping and stylistic contrasts of the varying geographical landscapes create a diverse historical picture. One of Scotland's leading fiddle exponents performs melodies alongside Gregor Blamey on piano/accordion, with a specially written script read by legendary actor John Shedden.
