Description:
For one night only, JazzMain pays homage to the great American tenor saxophonist Dexter Gordon in a specially curated show Diggin’ Dexter. This is a genuine showcase taking you on a historical journey that delves into the history of Dexter’s recordings and reflects the reasons why his music still resonates today. The music stays true to Dexter’s preferred quartet format, with tenor saxophonist Nick Gould tasked with creating the sound that made Dexter Gordon a formidable horn player, with Steve Grossart (piano), Johnny Copland (electric bass) and Kevin Dorrian (drums).
